Junior Web Developer
Markup Design is rapidly growing and looking for a junior developer to join the team on a part-time basis. This position is for someone who is looking to join a small but experienced team to broaden their skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to start their journey as a web developer while working for a fast-growing digital agency in Suffolk.

You will be working in a great environment in Bury St Edmunds with the ability to work from home on occasions.
Your Responsibilities
You will be working on exciting projects and managing existing clients. Some examples include:
- Developing WordPress and eCommerce websites.
- Good communications skills, communicating with clients via email or telephone.
- Supporting and making changes to existing client websites.
- Taking designs from PDFs and building them into HTML/CSS templates.
- Writing and using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and WordPress functions.
- Tracking down bugs on existing websites and resolving them.
- Experience with cPanel, domain records, putting websites live.
- SEO, Social Media, Photoshop, Illustrator and other design experience is a bonus.
About You
We don’t look for fancy degree’s or qualifications that have been rotting in your draws ever since you got them we care about what you know and what you can do.
So if you have a “yes” attitude to learning and trying new things, are willing to learn we would love to hear from you.
Clean development is something we really care about so a sharp eye for design and making websites “pixel perfect” is a huge bonus.
You’ll need website development experience however you may have gained it and we will help you build on that.
We will ask to see some of your previous website projects.
Benefits and Pay
This position will be based on a part-time basis (zero-hour contract) for the time being. As we grow this may change and we may be able to offer a full-time position on a salary based term.
- We will provide full paid holidays (legal entitlement) plus we will allow for additional none-payed holidays.

Graphic Designer
Markup Design is rapidly growing and looking for a Graphic Designer to join the team on a full-time/permanent basis. This position is for someone who is looking to bring their experience to a small team and help our business grow and provide our clients with fresh ideas and designs.
Your Responsibilities
You will be working on exciting and new projects.
Some examples include:

- Communicate with clients to understand the outline of projects, agree on timescales and discuss budgetary requirements with the management.
- Production of final design product using computer technology with the required software programs.
- Strong knowledge of artwork, digital design, planning, layout skills and an eye for detail.
- Following briefs to ensure every step is considered and the objectives are met throughout the project. Good communication with the client and the management.
- Agency experience is not essential but we would expect you to provide strong input into project planning and always look for opportunities to maximise business return.
- Working with other parts of the team to ensure design, print, development etc. will all fit accordingly.
- Managing graphic related social media channels, making website updates and creating promotional content.
- Be well organised with the ability to work on multiple projects at once and to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Essential Experience
At Markup Design we look at your experience more than your qualification. If you have the experience we require and are able to help our business grow by becoming part of the team then your experience is what we look for.
- Fully competent in Apple Mac operating systems; working knowledge of Adobe Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Producing high standard, appealing and creative designs for websites, website banners/interactive graphics, blogs, e-flyers, publications\print, social media, internal templates and documents.
- Sending final design project to print. Experience with printing leaflets, business cards, brochures and other types of business stationery.
Brand development and innovation.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites including, Premiere, After Effects, and XD
- Assist with creating and editing motion videos using Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
WordPress experience. - Microsoft Office experience.
- Photography experience in a wide range of industries such as product, building and visual photography.
- Website GUI design skills would be very desirable.
